This section and it's subfolders shows-off the various views of my PC800 during the day, at night, and the installation details of using RimStealth pinstriping by TapeWorks (http://www.tapeworks.com). This is a retro-relfective pinstriping that when done on like-color installations (black tape of black paint) "disappears", yet at night reflects like many 3M-brand safety tapes (like those used on large truck trailers). I like ths stuff alot, adds a nice custom touch and is a nice safety feature at night and in low-contrast (fog, overcast) conditions. I've used two colors, red and black. The red is a real close match to the 1996 Honda Red and the black is close to the grey lower grey panels because it's not truly jet-black, it's actually alot like the dark 1996 grey...black with metallic flecks, basically. *****DAYTIME SHOTS***** Frnt_TrunkUp_Day.JPG --- Front view with trunk up in background. Would you guess there are 6 distinct lines of RimStealth installed? I've used two colors, red and black. Rear_TrunkDown_Day.JPG --- There are three lines of RimStealth tape here. Also shows the Red Dwarf logo decal that I drew and Bobby Amini from iPCRC did for me--great job! Rear_TrunkUp_Day.JPG --- You can see some of the red RimStealth here because it's brighter than the red inside the trunk lid. But there is some black in there too. Trunk relfects like nuts at night. SideLftFrnt_Day.JPG SideLftRear_Day.JPG --- Left side shots. You can see some of the black relfecting back because of the sunlight angle relative to the tape and the "heading towards sunset" lighting/shadows--look ath the front edge of the disc covers and the nearby left crash plastic, it reflects-back gold/white. SideLft_TrunkDown_Day.JPG SideLft_TrunkUp_Day.JPG --- Side shots, there is a red and black stripe going the length of the plastic hip seam (bottom of red, top of black). Disappears nice, eh? SideRight_TrunkDown_Day.JPG SideRight_TrunkUp_Day.JPG --- Right side, same as above. *****NIGHT SHOTS***** All night shots used simply a tiny on-camera flash for illumination, nothing else. Doesn't take much light to "set off" the tape. The "Dist" shots are from a distance to show that the tape works well even far away as long as there is a glint of light aimed towards it. Dist_Frnt_Light_01_Nite.JPG --- Distance shot of front, with headlight on. Dist_Rear_01_Nite.JPG --- Distance shot of rear 3/4, with tail lights on. Dist_Rear_02_Nite.JPG --- Distance shot of rear 3/4, with tail lights off. Dist_Rear_Brake_01_Nite.JPG --- Distance shot of rear, with brakes on. The effect, which may not be clear here, is that applying the brakes causes the black and red RimStealth above and below the lighting assembly to "light up" and create a larger, edge-to-edge lit-up area. My girlfriend followed me on the freeway and said applying the brakes causes a great deal of light-up that's hard to miss. Dist_Rear_Brake_02_Nite.JPG --- Distance shot of rear 3/4, with brakes on. Dist_Rear_Light_Nite.JPG Dist_Rear_Signal_Nite.JPG --- More rearward shots (hey, we get rear-ended alot, right?), with and without the signal lamp blinking. Dist_SideLftFrnt_Nite_01.JPG Dist_SideLftFrnt_Nite_02.JPG --- Shots from the front. There is alot of tape up here, lots of natural lines to "hide" it in. black along the base of the windshield and the base of the Rifle adapter. One red just under the Rifle adapter, one running the entire cowl opening (red on the red patr, black on the black part), one on the seam of the fork/disc covers, and on the leading edge of the "frisbees." And of course, the side seam (red and black). You can also see I've applied a strip to the entire base of my Shoei RF-R (on the rear seat). I found a clever way to apply it to my girlfriend's Nolan flip-face as well (it won't adhere to the lower plastic). Frnt_Nite.JPG --- Straight-on shot of the front. I think the cowl effect came-out nice. :-) Rear_TrunkDown_01_Nite.JPG Rear_TrunkDown_02_Nite.JPG --- Shots of the rear. Also put a small strip at the edge of the mud flap. Take no chances! Rear_TrunkUp_Nite.JPG --- With the trunk up. I figured a good tape application here might be nice if stuck roadside at night. SideLftFrnt_TrnkDwn_01_Nite.JPG SideLftFrnt_TrnkDwn_02_Nite.JPG --- Some closeup 3/4 front views, includes my helmet in the passenger seat. SideLftRear_TrunkDown_Nite.JPG SideLftRear_TrunkUp_Nite.JPG --- Rear 3/4 left views of the trunk area. SideRightRear_TrunkUp_Nite.JPG SideRight_TrunkUp_Nite.JPG --- Rear 3/4 right views of the trunk area. *****DETAIL SHOTS***** Detail_PsngrFtrst_Nite.JPG --- Passenger footpeg edge has been given the RimStealth treatment along the entire leading edge. Can sometimes be seen even in the upright position. Detail_SideLeftTrunk01_Day.JPG Detail_SideLeftTrunk01_Nite.JPG --- Comparison shots of the same spot, left trunk, with and without ambient lighting. Nice reflective shot of me in my grubbies. ;-) Detail_SideLeftTrunk02_Day.JPG Detail_SideLeftTrunk02_Nite.JPG --- Shows the tailight wrap detail. Getting around the Pacific Coast badge label was annoying, since I'm no pinstriping expert. ;-) Detail_Side_Nite.JPG --- Shows the dual-stripe look I did on the whole bike, which is easiest to see on the side. Detail_Trunk_Nite.JPG --- Rear trunk detail.
