1996 Honda Pacific Coast
$4900 obo
Loaded 1996 PC800 with 70,000 miles. Runs great, only one previous owner. This bike has just about every practical upgrade available. This bike is unique, as all the turns signals, running, and brake lights have been converted to high-powered LEDs. This is the most visible motorcycle you've ever seen, day or night. Immaculately maintained, polished and waxed regularly, and recently polished the wheels. This is a well-used, but babied bike.
I've been the owner since 16,000 miles and this bike has been extensively photographed and talked about on iPCRC forums. The bike is known as Red Dwarf, named after the British Sci-Fi series. Many more photos are available than shown, just ask if you're interested. I used to average 8,000-15,000 miles a year.
I used it as a daily commuter and tourer, and even towed a Uni-Go trailer for years with it. My fiance enjoys riding it, and despite needing to sell it, we'll be riding it until it sells, so that 70,000 miles is climbing. But mileage makes no difference on these bikes, with them regularly exceeding 100,000; 200,000; and even 300,000 miles.
Despite loving this bike, I just got engaged and money is tight. We've tried keeping it, but in the end, we need the money and can't afford all the vehicles we have. We'll be sad to see this highly customized and prized tourer leave our stable. Won't you give it a good home?

CAVEATS:
- Leaks a small amount of oil, maybe a pint a month if used regularly. Mechanic says there is no long-term worry, the bike will run fine. This is a known PC800 problem.
- Rear shocks bushings squeak. I have replacement bushings, just haven't put them on yet. Will be provided.
- All four crash guard plastics are scuffed--that's what they are there for. ;)
- Two of the four spark plugs are cross-threaded slightly. Plugs still go 90% in. I switched it to Iridiums so they don't have to be replaced for a long, long time. Mechanic says not to worry, won't affect the engine.
- Small blemish on left side where a connection overheated. Connection fixed and new body panel purchased, but never installed. Will be provided.
- Slight scuffs on finish, but this is likely the best PC800 paint care you'll see.
- Bike in only one accident to my knowledge. No fork or frame damage (checked by laser alignment equipment). All subframes and necessary plastics replaced.
- Passenger seat and passenger grab rails are scuffed with boot marks from passenger getting on and off.
TERMS:
- All sales final. The bike is in working order to the best of my knowledge and is ridden every weekend. If it breaks, it would be a normal wear item or a fluke, and the responsibility of the new owner.
- No test rides. I will happily start it, let you sit on it, or come for a ride as a passenger with me (if you bring and wear safety gear). Sorry, no exceptions.
- Cash sales preferred. PayPal and Credit Cards not accepted, no exceptions.
- Checks accepted but you will not be able to take the bike until your check clears my bank. This can take 3-5 days.
- Pickup in San Leandro preferred.
- Delivery can be arranged at cost to buyer. I will not guarantee condition of bike after the shipper takes it. I have some shipper recommendations from the iPCRC.
